Founded in 1983, the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program (D.A.R.E.), along with millions of people fighting the war on drugs, annually celebrate National D.A.R.E. Day on the second Thursday in April.

D.A.R.E. strives to prevent the use of controlled drugs, gang membership and violent behavior among today’s youth.

To learn more about D.A.R.E. and learn how to help America win this war, see:    http://www.dare.org/about-d-a-r-e/

NATIONAL D.A.R.E. DAY has been acknowledged as a special day of observance, in the United States, by presidential proclamation.

I was a teenager in the 80's and I don't recall having this program in my schools.

I remember it.  It was full of misinformation about drugs use.
