have you guys had house warming parties ??
did you make a wish list ???
No, I've never had a formal housewarming party and definitely not one where I would make a wish list or a registry. TBH, I might be a little put off by an invitation like that.
I've been to housewarming parties where it's potluck style, and sometimes people bring gifts if they want to. Often it's something simple like a plant or a bottle of wine, though. Maybe my friends and I just aren't very socially with it, but nobody seems to expect gifts.
Can I ask about your situation? Is it your first home? Are you recently married? What type of things were you hoping to include on the wish list?
Need some Time for You? Feeling stressed?
Kick back, relax & take a break.
If you're a woman who just wants to have fun, here's the place :)
Never had one but love the idea of a wish list :)
No way! But we did have a big ole' bash the first summer we were here. We moved in October 1st. ( our 1st wedding anniversary 20 yrs. ago this Oct.) Any way, we had a party the next summer, we built our house from the ground up all on our own and wanted everyone that helped with the big steps like rafters and roofing to see it finished. NO GIFTS! Just bring yourself and an adult guest (hungry) is what I had on the invites.
Yes I invited my friends and family to come to my new house
no I did not ask for gifts or register.
most people bought small gifts anyhow.
Never did but a great idea ;)
Never did but went to my friend's and it was fun.
Funny thing, we didn't have one when we bought our first house but when we moved back to our home county and into a rental, we had one.
I made it very clear that they were not to bring gifts, only themselves. I just wanted to thank the ones that helped us move and show off the new digs.
I had one seven years ago, and my gift registry was at Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Ikea and Pier 1 Imports.
