I'll let you know! Sometimes my 5 year old (6 in 2 weeks) will stay inside alone while I walk the dog but I don't go far. We live in an apartment and I literally take him across the parking lot to the grass. I can see our front door at all times.
My DD is 10 and I don't do that as of yet
My 8 year old stays home alone but we also live in an RV park and his aunt lives right next door and a very good friend lives on the other side of me. If neither one of them are home I do not allow him to stay home alone.
My oldest not until they were like 13 and my youngest ones only can stay home if one of the teens are there and that is if I will not be gone too long.
My oldest is 4 so we have a long ways to go.
My oldest was 10 when I started letting her stay home alone for certain amounts of time. She doesn't like to go grocery shopping so I let her stay home for that (she's almost 12 now), that takes me about an hour to do.
I haven't done anything longer or overnight yet. My youngest hasn't stayed home alone at all, she's 9.
