Our school district is different than many others, in that our kids don't return to school until the beginning of September. They go to school until the end of June, so we have July and August to get our summer vibe on. While we got the jump start on buying back to school supplies, we put them in the office and are ignoring them while we soak up the last of our summer break.
We live in a mountain town that sits on the edge of the lake. I'll work in the morning while the kids complete their chore list and create Minecraft worlds. In the afternoon they put on their suits, spray each other with sunblock, and we head to the beach. They swim, they throw footballs, and they sit on the beach blanket with me and eat popcorn. It's a pretty great life. School is around the corner, but we're not quite ready for it.
How do you spend the last few weeks of summer break?
