Mom to Mom Mom to Mom

And I'm sooo embarassed!

So I'm sitting here in my office, I'm front desk receptionist. And these bankers walk in for their appt. with my boss. Well, from where I was looking one man was walking with crutches. And I said, " Oh, what happened, accident?" I stood up to look and he had just one leg. So, I said, "Oh, you just have one leg." I KNOW, STUPID. He smiled and said, "yeah, I had bone cancer and had to have it removed." I felt so stupid, embarrased. Mental note to self, NEVER ASK WHAT HAPPENED THE NEXT TIME I SEE SOMEONE ON CRUTCHES.

I'm guessing it's not the first time he's been in that situation... But I understand your embarrassment.

Oops. I'm sure he can tell you were embarrassed. I'm sure it happens to him so I wouldn't worry because it doesn't seem like he was offended.

I was a front desk receptionist and that's how I learned not to ask people what happen unless they tell me.

That would be embarassing, but it happens

Don't feel embarrassed. It happens. He wasn't embarrassed. I'm sure he appreciated that you even cared.
