So my four yr old was in trouble as my feet hit the floor this morning and I was trying to have a calm talk with him and why we don't do XYZ.

And he interrupted me with " shh. I wanna watch this" ( a show that 's on his bottom three of choices )

I got mad and said " fine watch your freakin show, but we WILL have a talk about this shortly!"

He huffs, " why you always say
'Freakin', mommy?"

I let a half smile slide and said " because you irritate me and I don't want to say ugly words you"

" Oh, well thank you for doing that then mommy"

Somehow I got robbed if my mad! :-)

ETA:
okay , ladies, not that I feel that should have explain my actions. However, it seems I must . At that point , I, MYSELF, needed a time out before things got too heated.

I have chronic migraines, a yelling match makes them more painful as would the squalling for being forced in the corner right then.

Correct discipline was doled out once I had a moment to myself and he still knew why he was punished and doubled it for the comment.

He was made to tell me why he was disciplined apologized and all was well.

If one does not understand the full situation, perhaps there should be a benefit of the doubt given instead of shock or judgement given.

With my explanation, the comment he made is not near as humorous.

LOL :) But I wouldn't have let him finish the show...

Kids are cute though. I never manage to stay mad long at my 4 year old.

Normally I wouldn't have, but I needed a time out myself, you know? Otherwise, lots of yelling and a migraine to follow.

Quoting booaura: LOL :) But I wouldn't have let him finish the show...

Oh my gosh, my oldest kids say that and it irritates me to no end. Funny thing is now I find myself saying it, because we dont swear in my house.

Kids can be cute sometimes to get out of trouble. I would have not let him watch the show though
