Cleaning baseboards and window sills

What would you use to clean painted baseboards and window sills? I don't want to "wash" the paint off. I expect that it is painted with basic washable indoor paint.

I usually just wash mine with some method cleaner in a hot bucket of water and a rag. I've never had an issue with paint coming off.

1 mom liked this

Have you tried vinegar and water??

Other than that I would say Mr. Clean

What is method cleaner?

I haven't tried anything yet. In my old house I knew the paint was washable so just used warm water and an all purpose cleaner. This is for my sister's house so I don't want to take chances.

I just use whatever I am using to clean other things around it...or cleaning wipes.

I use vinegar and water for almost everything.

Ammonia will strip paint, so avoid that or anything containing ammonia.

I sprayed vinegar and water on mine and it worked fine..then I wiped them down with a paper towel. This was the baseboards. Haven't tried the window sills yet.

I think Target sells it.

THANKS for all the suggestions.

This is the kind of advice I was hoping for. What NOT to use.
