Help with toys!

Our living room is FULL of train tracks and car tracks! Our son loves them and plays with all of them, so getting rid of them isn't really an option at this point. I just don't know how to organize them or how to store them. How do you store yours?

Clear bins in a book shelf.. Also we  recycle them out.. When I notice my dd isnt playing with something then it gets put out of sight for a few months. Then I will go through her toys move other toys to the out of sight area then move the orginal ones back.. That way I can see what she does and doesnt play with

Maybe a bookshelve and containers. Put each set in a different one.

Those long bins are good too, and could push under a couch.

  • 4 identical square baskets lined up behind my couch so they're mostly out of sight.  Or place them under your coffee table if space allows.
  • I have a large cabinet as my tv console (doors are solid wood, not glass so you can't see the toys
  • Clear storage drawers under beds
  • lots of shelves iin the bedroom closets
  • closet in the living with lots of shelves

1 mom liked this

The big tracks are in a large bin.  But yeah those are tough.  After about 7 tracks (hubby buying them) I finally said no more tracks.  We have geo tracks still, but the big race tracks are just so hard to store.

But yes I would suggest cycling them.

These are all great ideas! Funny though...we don't have a coffee table, our couch is against the wall, we have no closets bigger than 5 coat widths, or room for a huge tv cabinet, and his bed is still a toddler idea bed so there's hardly space underneath. Lol we live in a small row home i the city. No space. And those dam tracks are so curvy and big. I said no more also!
