What do you use to clean your stovetop? we have a stainless steel stove with the shiny black top and it has been a mission trying to find something to cut all the grease off and make it look new. Any advice?

I don't have stainless. For my stovetop I wash dropped food off with the dishwater and then polish with a soft cloth.  I read that for stainless, if there are stubborn spots, to try a vinegar solution.
