How can I get static out of a comforter that has been washed & dried already?

 you can just spray a bit of fabric softener on it and toss it back in the dryer for like 20 min with about 3-5 dryer sheets.

 I would just put it back in the dryer with a very small piece of dryer sheet.

wad up a ball of aluminum foil and toss the comforter in the dryer with it on the no heat-fluff setting.

I would put it back in dryer for about 20 minutes with a couple dryer sheets on fluff setting. To remember the dryer sheets, I put them  in my pocket with the quarters for the laundry. When I pull out the quarters, the dryer sheets are there and I don't forget.

Spritz it lightly with deluted liquid fabric softener and hang outside so air will pass through it. If you can't hang it outside follow the same process, & put it over the shower / bath curtain rod with a box fan on high and flip it after a few minutes.
