any ideas on how to get the smell of fuel out of clothes

Bf came home last night from work and had been sprayed by diesel fuel thanks to a loose hose. I soak his clothes all night but they still smell just as bad as they did. Any idea on how to get this smell out of clothes?

I never tried this -  try to soak it with Baking Soda + Add 10 drops of Lemon Juice. See if that helps.

Put some extra fabric softner in it (a scented one after washing)

Baking soda and borax have it soak in your washer for like 7 hours and then wash on medium load with soap and fabric softener it should get it out

Following. My dh doesn't have fuel on his clothes but he works at a steel warehouse and they put some smelly oil on one of their bars of steel and that stuff smells oh so bad and I can't seem to get the stink out no matter what. Might have to try the vinegar trick.
