I was cleaning out my cupboards and found a couple of bottles (unopened) of Caltrate 600+D with minerals....expiration date on the bottom is May 2012. My mom takes these, and I'm wondering if they'd be safe to pass along to her.
You have about 6 months after the expiration date. They are just not as potent.
Maybe you could ask your Dr or hers and show them the bottles.
GOD first ppl next things last you cant go wrong and w/ GOD and JESUS around you,you will be a a triple strand rope

I think what happens is it loses it's potency, but still I wouldn't take them.
Working at a health food store allows me direct access to the supplement reps and their manufactures. If a consumer calls the manufacture with this question, they will dutifully say, throw the supplement away and buy new, therefore gaining a new sale. But we are told, depending on the supplement, about how much time we have before they are rendered useless because we do mark them down after they expire. So again you have a good 6 months on this supplement.
