I want to make this for Easter:

But..the chocolate recipe calls for coconut oil... my son is allergic. Any ideas on what I could use instead?

Thanks!

If this weren't the Healthy Living group I'd suggest Crisco, but you want a healthy alternative....so I'd suggest trying butter.

Would extra light olive oil work? It doesn't have any flavor to speak of. I'm guessing he might be allergic to almond or peanut oils.

My son is allergic to coconut and all nuts.... He does tolerate french fries cooked in peanut oil... However... I'm too scared to try coconut oil... I have spent too many hours in the ER.
