Mental Health?

So, you do (insert activity here) for your physical health, but what do you do for your mental health?

Here lately, I've taken up journaling for my mental health. I have major depression and my thoughts tend to go ramped and stir crazy in my brain. While journaling doesn't always solve me problem, it does declutter and put things in order for me.

I need my own time to think, pray, set goals, refocus, catch up, then plan ahead for the family's life style.

I haven't had time to do much lately but I find crafts & hobbies help me....like puzzles, crochet, etc.

honestly when I pray it helps me to feel at ease about things even if they've seemed hopeless.  I also have a good friend to talk to and my mom who gives great advice.  I also will read or do puzzles...it helps take my mind off things and relaxes me. Journals are a good idea too

I run!  Physical excercise is very benificial when it comes to mental health. Some benifits are:

  • Releasing feel-good brain chemicals that may ease depression (neurotransmitters and endorphins)
  • Reducing immune system chemicals that can worsen depression
  • less tension, stress and mental fatigue
  • a natural energy boost
  • improved sleep
  • a sense of achievement
  • focus in life and motivation
  • less anger or frustration
  • a healthy appetite
  • better social life
  • having fun.

Yes! I totally agree. I'm a runner, too, and it greatly helps with both my mental and physical health.

I pray but lately my faith is almost gone. How do you still believe when things are at their worst?
