Went to the eye doctor

I went to the eye doctor yesterday,I need glasses and I was a little bummed.I have Myopia in my left eye, vision is blurry and have an eye strain in this eye.The eye doctor was truthful to me and properly diagnosed me.Discussed the options,it was glasses, surgery or contacts. There was no way I was going to have the surgery, the risk of going blind if something goes wrong.Contacts,a pain to put in.I picked the glasses and I was fit with them, picked out a everyday pair to wear and a pair of safety glasses.I work at a shop that requires safety glasses worn at all times in the shop area.I am going to adjust to wearing them and my new glasses come in a couple weeks.

I was bummed to a couple of years ago when I was told I needed to wear glasses, but now I hardly notice them. There are times where they can be bothersome, but for the most part, it's not so bad.

All of my family has glasses, so far I've been ok but I know it's coming. Glad you are getting it taken care of.

I was told at 13 I needed glasses very very badly for being very nearsighted and I was in modeling at the time and I told my parents I will go blind before I wear glasses, so my mom cried and begged me and I said No if you waste your money on them I will take them off the minute I leave the house, so they invested in  contacts for me even though contacts were VERY expensive back then. Awwww. : )

I wore contacts until I was 40 (6 yrs ago) and although I was terrified, I  managed to make myself get the courage to get lasik eye surgery and oh my gosh It was fast and easy and not painful and It felt like a miracle! No more contacts for me. : ) And ONE of my eyes is even better than 20/20 now! : D

Wow I am surprised he had a bad experience, poor guy.  My dad had his done over 15 yrs ago and his went great too and he still doesnt need glasses and he is going to be 73.

I wouldn't get it done just anywhere or some place that advertises how CHEAP they do them.. we went to a highly respected Laser Eye Surgery Center that does all kinds of laser eye surgeries with specialists all day 5 days a week. They do tons of lasik eye surgeries, first you have to have a consultation to see if they will even consider you a candidate because they wont do just anyone, they only will do it if you pass a whole tons of  eye tests that show you are highly likely to have a very positive outcome, if they think the  outcome will be only a minor improvement or you have any issues that  would make it risky for you they wont let you do it even if you want to, so I trust them.

They also do countless other eye  surgeries for cataracts and lots and lots of other eye issues.

They had high rated reviews and lots of expeerience.

Its all they do.

As terrified as I was right up  to the time they brought me to lay me on  the table, I was crying I was so scared.... I have to say if I had known what it would be like I would  not  have been the least bit nervous. It was ALL positive, cant say one negative part of the whole thing.

My husband watched  the surgery thru a window. I woudlnt want to do that ewww but he thought it was cool.
