It’s International Dance Day! Today is a celebration of a truly
unique art form. Dancing has been a part of human culture since the
beginning of our history. Through the ages, people have used dance for
artistic expression, celebration, prayer, and entertainment.
An NGO called the International Theatre Institute founded
International Dance Day in 1982. Every year on April 29th (the birthday
of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet), the organization
promotes the importance of dance education. Learn more about this
important campaign on the official International Dance Day site.
To celebrate International Dance Day, book tickets for an upcoming
performance, share your favorite dance video on Facebook, and break out
your best dance moves!
Do you know how and do you like it.
Quoting abra: I danced classical ballet for 7 years. :-)
I love to dance. Country swing is one of my favorite steps, though I haven't really gone dancing in years. It is funny that the girls are watching Dancing With the Stars right now! :)
I know how to do dance steps from the 1920s like The Charleston and some others. I took a dance class that was offered my senior year in high school and we also used a lot of the steps with the color guard for the marching band with a few of our routines.
I don't have much dance training but I love to dance.
