Having spaghetti tonight? Know how you can get your kids to eat carrots, cauliflower, red pepper and broccoli as well - and all in one bite?

Add veggie purees to the spaghetti sauce!

In less than an hour, you can fill your freezer with small portions of veggie purees, then just pop them into any casserole or sauce based dish.

While purees are great for boosting nutrition, you need to be careful to teach children to enjoy vegetables

That I agree with, rk.  Totally.  I never had that problem.  But I noticed that the baby foods, stage 2 and 3, always had pureed veggies in there for nutrition.  If all else fails....

I'd give the kid a veggie on the plate, but supplement with puree.  One step at a time.  And a fruit.  Never saw a kid who didn't like fruit cocktail!

Frankly, my df isn't as good as I'd like him to be about veggies.  He loves green beans, broccoli, cauliflower if it has cheese on it (@@) and salads.  Other than that, I would do well to sneak in purees on him.  At almost 60, he ain't gonna change.  KWIM?

Thought of doing this once but then thought better of it. I don't really have much problems getting either of the boys to eat veggies.

I got lucky...my oldest two had been in foster care for 3 yrs. and the family ate lots of veggies.  My biggest problem was with my dd....she was 4 and anemic because that's all she would eat - veggies and fruits.  Now, I'm not putting-down vegetarians, BTDT.  I found out she did like brown beans.  But in order to keep her red blood cell count up, I had to make her take just a few bites of whatever meat we might be having.  Hey, she loved hotdogs (not particularly healthy, unless you get the pricey ones...lol).  Since she moved out at 18, she's a junk-food-junkie now.  Still, if I take some fruit over there....it's gone in a heartbeat.  Candy to her!

My youngest, the birthchild, just plain loved to eat.  Put anything before him, he'll chow down.  I don't know of anything he doesn't like.
