it will be 15 years in August....and every year I laugh at those who said they couldn't even see us making it to the wedding (we were at extreme opposites in several things when we first met, but have started meeting in the middle over things)

I was married for 25 yrs.  However, we separated at about 21 yrs.  We dated for 6-1/2 yrs. before marriage.  I seriously think one of the problems was that I was way too young to fall so deeply in love and didn't have a real chance to grow up before I committed.

Now I've been in a steady relationship for over 12 yrs.  He asked me to marry him (on the knee, diamond ring, the whole shebang) almost 6 yrs. ago.  There are many many reasons for NOT tying the knot, and none of them have to do with our love and commitment.  It's stupid politics and finances.  (Although I'll have to say I kinda like still having a certain "mental" freedom....)
