Wow, that's awesome, I really wish we had one!
We usually use ours for meat since we buy in bulk. Well really anything we buy in bulk most goes in the deep freeze and then I keep one in the other to have on hand since our deep freeze is in the basement. Eh.Enjoy it! I don't know what we would do without ours anymore!
We just moved into the apartment we're living in in March. Last year, about this time, we bought a brand new, side by side refridgerator. We'd had a deep freezer for a year before that. So, since the kitchen here is fully furnished, we have the deep freeze, the fridge in the living room, plus the side by side. I have more storage space than I know what to do with. So, here's what I do:
Deep freeze is meats and pizzas, mostly. It's not huge. Side by side has Veggies and more easy to cook frozen stuff. I don't use the fridge part of it. The fridge in the kitchen has the stuff we're currently using, since it's right there. I'm in the process of cleaning it out. But however you decide, make sure it works for you.
I LOVE our deep freeze. We use it to store meat as well as any other frozen foods that won't fit in our regular freezer. We also store my ODD's breastmilk in it. lol
Thanks for your tips everyone. I am really excited and will be keeping mine in the basement.
I use mine for meats. I keep a list of what is in mine. I stack like things together. All the ground beef is in 1 group. My 1/2 of cow goes on one side. The deer meat is on another.
