Lazy Bruschetta

Original recipe makes 4 servings
  •

4 slicesItalian bread, 1/2 inch thick

  •

    1/2 cupolive oil

  •

    1 tablespoongarlic salt

  •

    1 largetomato, sliced

  • 1 cupshredded Italian cheese blend

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven's broiler.
  2. Arrange the slices of bread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Mix together the olive oil and garlic powder in a cup or small bowl. Brush onto the slices of bread. Cover each piece of bread with tomato slices, then sprinkle with as much cheese as you like. Drizzle just a bit of the olive oil over the cheese.
  3. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bread is toasted. Make sure you keep an eye on it - it doesn't take long!

The bread doesn't toast on the bottom, is this OK?  I am looking for an easy bruschetta recipe and this looks good and easy.

I've honestly never made or even had bruschetta before so I'm not sure. But I think it's more personal preference
