Public assistance such as FS, WIC, Medicare, Welfare

Do you think the programs work? Would you change things about them if you could?

I think people on these programs are taking advantage of the system. It's not the original intention of the system ....or IS it?

I'm a conspiracy theorist, I admit it. JFK once said "There is a plan to enslave the American people and I plan to expose it." One week later he was shot and killed.

Coincidence?

I think not.

By people relying on their government to live, the government has a hold over them and they don't even know it.

I think they can work for people who use it temporarily to get back on their feet after going thru a rough time.  Its the people who use it to survive for years that screws everyone else.  The government should be able to regulate it better.

I was on aid for 12 years. Without it my children and i would be dead. I lived in CA. Which is the state a lot of people will move to just to get aid. I think that state needs to make some changes. They made one change i like. Now you can only get 5 years of aid. Fortunately but unfortunately that rule didn't apply to me,because my second child has 17 disabilities. Because of his disabilities i had to stay home and care for him.

California is #12 in population size, but 33% of welfare recipients live here,it's one of the things that's going to bankrupt our state,it's out of control. I don't know much about it but I think there should be limits at least on how long you can collect. There are a percentage of people who wont work as long as they are being paid not to.

I do believe they work.

I would like to see some change. One of them being, that you are required to be a United States Citizen to receive them, you cannot have "anchor" babies and receive it, and that applicants must submit a drug test.

for the records, we do receive some public assistance. I would have no problem peeing in a cup for someone. I do it for my OB every appointment anyways, lol
