i have had the same experience. my director of nursing was a man and he was gay and when he saw my husband he had a fit over him. from the time he told me anytime my husband would come visit me at work he would always follow him around to where he met me. i was very good friends with him and not many people knew he was gay but i did. i found it funny also. it didnt offend me at all.

Yeah, I didn't take offense either. He blushed and just got a silly grin on his face. It was funny. He is such a nice guy an I've only known him a couple months.
