It always kind of warms my heart when I receive an act of kindness. (Act #1)
This past weekend I attended a conference with my Sisters-in-law and my MIL. To be short it was a religious conference speaker Beth Moore and while I'm not religious I enjoy learning about different religions and what struck me about Beth Moore was her passion for her faith, she spoke with such conviction and I learned a lot!
BUT that's not what this post is about lol.
Sometimes there are times where it can seem like nothing good is going to happen, a rough patch except it seems like anything BUT a patch. So when an act of kindness unexpectedly comes your way it's always with a warm feeling and sense (albeit small sense) of renewed faith in humanity. And that's exactly what happened to me this weekend!
Maybe it was because I was at a religious conference and people were feeling exceptionally generous. Maybe was just one of those days! Maybe I just happened to run into kind people.
But let's start off at the beginning (it was a really good weekend), friday night, I didn't know the conference was going to be paid parking. I don't often go to the arena and so maintain the naivety that there is still free parking in the world so I got in line and immediately like five cars got in behind me so as I was realizing my stuck-in-line situation I glanced up (should've done that in the first place, damn my fear of rear-ending people) and sure enough there's a big sign with a bold $5.00 Cash Only hanging over the little toll booths. Well I don't carry cash, I feel if I get mugged and they take my debit card then they can take my debt along with it, haha.
Anyway, I get up to the booth, apologize profusely for not having cash, and ask if I can turn around and the lady says to just go ahead and park, she never carries cash either. Yay! Act of Kindness #1. Afterwards though I did lose my car in the parking lot, it was seriously 1 of 3 yellow cars in the WHOLE parking lot so you wouldn't think it would be that hard to find, it was!
The next day I did withdraw $5 in cash with the full intention to find that kind lady and pay it to her and there was no one there at the toll booths so I never got the chance. Oh well.
