What kind of house could 200,000 buy you in your area?

A condo/townhouse/ mobile home/ house?

How crazy!

Quoting TristanMitchael:

In my case its stairs that lead down to a underground tunnel lol. Partial basements are not the full size of the house.

Quoting saraface5383:

What is a partial basement? We don't have basements around here, well, that I know of anyway.

A pretty nice big house! When we were looking at houses we looked at a 3 bedroom 1 & 1/2 baths. The bedrooms were a little on the small side but it had hardwood floors and was pretty nice and that was just over $100,000. My house is a (crappy :) 3 bedroom 1 bath, partial basement, laundry room & garage and it was 79,000. Not the best condition though. So 200,000 would get a nice big house around here!

It could buy several mobile homes or a brand new house. I don't know about the condo thing.

It's so crazy how prices are different for each area!

You could buy a nice house in our area for that price.

A mid to larger brand new home. Heck I could get a great house here now with 150k. Our house is from 1940 and about 1300 or less sq ft but we paid 89k for it. Put about 20k into it though.
