I am doing this post to ask for prayers for ALL the victims of the Aurora shooting. But there is also one family in particular.
A local man was shot in the eye during the attack. He has lost his right eye and is in a medically induced coma. He and his wife went to the movie premier as a last outing before their baby is born. His wife has since gone into labor so he will miss the birth of his son. We are a pretty small community and he is well known around here so the community is rallying to raise money for the family and will be doing a prayer vigil tomorrow night. I know there are many victims of the shooting but this one hits close to home for me. I don't know him well but I know enough to know he is a good guy. The couples child was born this morning. Both mom & baby are doing good.
They have him in a medically induced coma and he has gone through 3 surgeries. I don't know when they plan to not keep in him a coma but his family and friends say he responds to their voices by squeezing their hands. There is a prayer vigil for him tonight and I've heard the Westboro Baptist Church plans on showing up. They showed up to a vigil in Aurora already so I won't be surprised. Ugh, hopefully they don't show up, they have been through enough
