This is a hard pattern and soft it's due to size. It is the size of my dining room table. I have the top cut and I'm pinning to sew the snow on. Pic below. I har all the prairie pouts cut (little triangles that trim the edge). I am making progress but it sure is slow but I am almost to pulling the sewing machine out. That is fantastic! So I'll keep updating.

Bad pic I know but it's my phone and I don't eat to take the curtain down to get more light.

It has been a chore. Mostly just cutting and ironing. I still have to put together three more trees and I have to cut the backing and batting. Then those darn prairie points. It has little triangles that go the whole way around and they are going to be a hassle. I know it. I wanted it done for today but it didn't happen. Now I'll have to wait a week to give it to her.

It's getting much much closer. Here is the top with all the pieces ironed on...

And just the one section I got stitched. I have to sew around all the appliqués and it is time consuming. I have to get this done. Maybe I can get two sections stitched tomorrow and wrap this thing up in time.

Are you stitching with your embroidery machine, or are you using a zig zag stitch along it all, to tack it down?

It's a appliqué stitch that is on the embroidery machine. It looks like half a ladder. Basically it's missing one side.

Like, half of one side is missing? Kind of like a blanket stitch?

I don't know what a blanket stitch is. It looks like a ladder but instead of having two sides, it just has one and then the parts that go across. If that doesn't make sense I might be able to take a pic of my machine. It's an actual appliqué stitch on the machine.

I didn't have to be in to work till 9:30 so I spent an hour sewing on another tree and a snowman. I probably could have done more but I hate to be late so I'm always really early. I'll work on my appliqué pieces for my owls in the break room.
