You can give them mylocon, but not gripe water. That is meant for older babies (2 months +). Colic calm works well for gas and can be given to your LO. If you push their legs up, knee's out to the side it helps push it out. Good Luck momma

I took my 3-week-old to her pediatrician this week because of gas problems, and she said it's absolutely fine to give gripe water to newborns. In fact, she said they're the "target audience." :) I also just found out about Hyland's Colic Tablets (they also make gas tablets) that are tiny pills that dissolve instantly in the baby's mouth. A friend recommended them and said they were a lifesaver with her daughter. I plan to go pick some up tomorrow.

Mylicon didn't seem to do anything for my daughter. She's just a gassy, gassy little girl, so we've been trying all kinds of different things. We just switched her formula to Similac Alimentum, which is specifically for colic and digestive problems. She seems happier on that, though she still has her screaming fits about once a day. :(
