What's a cool way to encourage your child to brush for a full 2-3 minutes?

Turn on their favorite song and have them brush until it's over. They can shake their butt to the music and brush at the same time!

My four yr old hates to brush for longer than 30 seconds. So I made up a song for him. While he brushes I sing the song. He relaxes, forgets that he is brushing and just enjoys the song.

I have the kids brush to music like musical chairs after the first song is over they are done. It's so much fun my kids dance while brushing and we have a blast

Brush your teeth with your child. Make a game out of it!

I make my DS sing the ABC's while brushing, and then once he's done singing I finish brushing for him for a couple of minutes. He's only 6 so he doesn't do the greatest job yet.

We used timers. I found a fun shape (an egg with a chicken face on it). We also brushed with them. Modeling is an excellent teaching tool. And reality discipline: no brushing = painful cavities.

We play games. My dd is 5 now and she likes to find imaginary animals in her mouth. lol, Or she will try to catch the dragons and slay them by brushing. We get creative, but it works.
