Well for a few reasons. One is i am anemic but the main reason is i had a blood clot in my brain when ds1 was a baby. I was on blood thinners for a long time. I no longer take them but my dr said that no place will allow me to donate

Not on a regular basis. If I'm at Wal Mart or something and the blood mobile is there I'll do it if I have time. Otherwise I'm not driving 40 miles to the blood bank. Our local hospital doesn't collect blood for donating there.

I'll also make it a point to go if someone needs blood.

I gave platelets every week when I was deployed but I got pregnant right after I got back and got out of the habit. I need to start donating again.

I stopped donating 14 1/2 yrs ago after my motorcycle accident. I needed many blood transfusions, one that I got was screened properly and I have an extra antibody or something that could be harmful if mixed witht he wrong blood - something like that (can't fully remember how the nurse explained it). Dh had to get tested before I got pregnant with ds to make sure it was safe. I have a blood card in my wallet that says my blood type and the extra antibody. I also have issues with being anemic.

1-2 times a year at my sons school blood drives. I have O+ blood so I get phone calls on a regular basis. I'm also an organ donor.
