Homemade Microwave Popcorn
1 - paper lunch sack
1/4 - cup popcorn kernels
1 - teaspoon olive oil
salt, to taste
Toss the popcorn with the olive oil and pour the kernels into a small paper lunch sack. Fold the top of the bag over twice to close each fold should be 1/2 inch deep.
Place bag on it's side in microwave on the carousel. Cook on high for 2 minutes (I use the popcorn setting on my microwave for 3.0 oz bag = 2 minutes) or until the pops are 5 seconds apart.
Remove from microwave and carefully open the bag. Pour into a bowl and season with salt and melted butter to your taste.
Tips & Warnings: I have read that the paper bag could catch fire, so this method isn't recommended. I myself haven't had any issues with popping popcorn in this manner. I do lay the paper lunch sack on it's side instead of straight up, so it's not touching the top of the microwave as well as stand close by and watch it pop the entire time.
