Quoting Rain2Rinse:
I actually started cleaning with citrus vinegar, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide about 2 months ago. I got.rid of glade plug ins and febreeze, and now vinegar with an oil infusement, or 100% soy candles. I am proud of the differences i am making in her day to day life.
We don't use any of those glade or febreeze type products either - I figure we're better off cleaning up whatever is causing the smell and opening windows to air out the house (even when it's hot or cold out, I love airing out the house for an hour or two!!). If I really want the house to smell nice, I boil orange peels, cloves and cinnamon sticks in water on the stove and it smells so good!!

I usually just let it come to a boil and then turn the heat down to low so it stays warm. It works really well if you have something in the oven and can just let the heat from the oven keep the mixture warm. It starts to dry up after a couple hours so that's usually when I turn it off :)
