Out in Force!!

I went into town to fill a prescription for my husband (who now, on top of recovering from surgery has the beginnings of pneumonia! Ugh!) and right after the speed limit drops from 60 to 45 there was a cop sitting there. As I passed him he turned on his lights and turned to get a car going the other direction. As I was coming back, about 20 minutes later maybe, the same cop had someone else pulled over. You'd think people would learn because there are ALWAYS cops at that bend.

Have you ever been pulled over? When was the last time?

It has been 7 years for me. My very first Mother's Day I was running late for church. The speed limit goes from 40 - 45 - 55 in about a 1/4 mile. I got up to 55 sooner than I should have and a cop pulled me over.

The last time that I was, I had just gotten married the day before and was going home to tell my parents (we eloped ;) ) and as I was minding my own business a car came up on my ass and then cut around me and then cut around another car. I made the mental note to stay away from him. Well, as we came to a break in the trees there was a cop and that car slammed on his breaks which, in turn, caused the car in front of me and then me to have to slam onto ours too. About that time the cop turns his lights on so I get over. Mind you, my cruise control was set, so I was not anywhere near speeding. Speed limit was 70 and I was set at 70. Anyway, I get over but keep going because I didn't do anything wrong, right? Cop gets over. So I get over again because I thought he was trying to get around the car in that lane. He gets over again. By this time I realize that he is pulling ME over! Seriously?! He said he clocked ME at 85. EIGHTY-FIVE! Um...NO! He was an asshole and there was no arguing with him. I just paid the stupid ticket, as opposed to contesting it because I was living in VA at the time and that was in GA so it was not worth the time, stress, travel expenses. But yeah. I am still so pissed about that. SO pissed about it!

I've never been.

Oh, wait...I was once. We had only a single cab truck when DS was younger. I was on my way to pick DH up at work. A cop turned out behind me and when my son saw it he went crazy (he loved cop cars and things like that). Well because he turned around the cop thought he wasn't strapped in, but he was. He walked to the truck and checked it. Thank God my son didn't undo the buckle....lol.

Now that same cop is married to my DH's cousin so we see him all the time.

Super lucky!! I have THE worst luck ever and have NEVER talked my way out of a tickete (I've gotten 2 legit ones in my life). I had a friend in college who got pulled over quite a few times and she talked and cried and flirted her way out of every single ticket. Me, never. I am also the one who gets hit with the asshole cops. :/

Many times LOL I put 30000 miles on my car every year so it's kind of a given with that much time on the road :) The last time was while I was pregnant with Hannah and was driving back from a race with a friend after crewing for her (helping her with her gear at the aid stations, etc). We were going through a BFE little Texas town and I apparently blew three 3 speed traps (where the speed limit drops 10 mph each time as you come into town) while we were watching for the sign for the turnoff to home. The cop was really nice but I still got a ticket. I couldn't blame him, I deserved it :) (wo years before that, I got one for running the stop sign at the end of our street, and 2 years before THAT, I got a speeding ticket the day before I left for Iraq LOL You would think I could talk my way out of *that* one but... no.
