Did you know that according to the National Peanut Board, the average American eats about three pounds of peanut butter each year, totaling about 700 million pounds nation-wide?
Does your family eat a lot of peanut butter? We never have it in our family :)
OMG we buy natural peanut butter by the case! The sugar free stuff that only has peanuts and a bit of salt in it. It goes in smoothies (current fav. bananas, PB, unsweetened choc soymilk and a couple ice cubes!), baked goods, added to oatmeal for extra protein...occasionally it even goes into a sandwich.=) I couldn't live without it.
I think my kids have eaten that in Sunbutter :)
DS1 is just now starting to like PB (brief history - he tested allergic as a baby, either outgrew or it was a false positive and it's only been in the last year he has been willing to try it). DS1 is allergic to it (not contact or inhalent reactve, we eat PB in our home as a controlled environment). DD has no allergies, she is just at that lovely age where everything is ewww.
Dh eats it, he likes it on toast with jelly and on crackers. I have a slight allergy to it, so I dont eat it. DS is only 14-months, so we havent given it to him yet, but I did have him tested and he isnt allergic to it.
We eat 2 or 3 jars a month. We love it and eat p'nut butter everything.
