Brushing teeth and cursive writing

My 2 year old had her doctors appt last week and the doctor (a new one we have not ever seen before) made the comment that I was to brush her teeth until she could write in cursive. Now, I know that we have ha the teeth brushing conversation before but I am just wondering if anyone else has heard that. She said it is because until then they don't have the dexterity to properly brush their teeth. So...ever heard of this?

I quit brushing my sons teeth when he was four. I just supervised him after that. He's seven now (almost eight...OMG!) and hasn't had a single cavity.

Unfortunnately, they don't teach cursive anymore here. I guess it will be a long time before I can quit.  lol

the child brushes and then you go in after to get everything. You can flippant all you want, but those molars need to last until they are around 10.

I heard they don't here either-my kids are only 4 and 1 so I don't know for sure yet. I still brush their teeth and will continue to until I know they're doing a good job on their own.
