When you go out in public, or even at home, really, do you voice your expectations to your children? For instance, when we are going to the store, especially if my girls are having an "off day", we have a little talk and I let them know how I expect them to act and what I expect them to do. It just reinforces them and gives them a goal, something to make them work for in making you proud.

Yes I do. Mostly when we go out, especially if it is somewhere we don't go often. We go over the rules so they know what we are looking for from them. At this point they know the rules so we usually make them tell us what we expect. Seems to be helpful.
