Healthy Alternative to Microwave Popcorn
I found this recipe on a blog over the summer. You know that there are findings saying that microwave popcorn has a high amount of carcinogens etc. Plus it can be expensive.
Well I tried out this recipe and it worked!!!!
Here's what you need:
1/4c. of popcorn kernals
2 tsp of olive or canola oil
1/4 tsp of salt (i used less than that)
Butter melted (if you want)
brown paper bags
Ok, in a bowl, combine popcorn and oil. Pour into brown paper bag and keep it upright with the opening at the top. Fold down the top of the bag several times. Place in microwave standing up right. Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until pops are more than 5 secs apart from each other. when done, open bag and salt/butter as you please.
*always keep nearby when doing this as a precaution since the bag could catch fire...hasn't not happened to me***
***also, I'd put a microwave safe plate underneath the bag since the oil seeps through and it cuts down on the mess**
Enjoy
