Hey all! I just wanted to share that Alabama finally got off their lazy butts and I'm officially certified for K-6! I'm very excited! I got my AZ certification back in the mail 2 weeks ago, but when I didn't get my AL certification within a week I called. Guess they were just sitting on it, because they didn't fully review it until I called them!!! (It was posted today... they've had it since March 2nd). I know the local BOE's are very "on it" I don't know why the state can't be. It was supposed to take 6-8 weeks, and it took 10! That two weeks unfortunately made a huge difference in my applications to jobs that have since closed. Not having my HQ status probably hurt me for the jobs I DID apply for. Plus it was hard to apply for jobs because my AZ is k-8, and I wasn't sure what grades i'd be eligible to teach in AL.
Anyway, it's all good news, and now hopefully I can get a JOB! I'm just hoping I didn't miss out on many opportunities. I'm applying to everything, even permanent sub positions. I just want to get in the classroom!
