Raising Thankful Children

What are you doing to raise children who are truely thankful? Do you have any rituals around this time of year that help with enforcing thankfulness? How do you make sure it is not a one time of year thing?

We try and make sure we talk about things we are thankful for every day - not just in November. We also do service projects and give back to our community.

We talk about being Thankful. My kids also write thank you notes throughout the year. Donate clothing and toys, help at church

At 22 and 25 mine our grateful and thankful people- very, very aware of others. My daughter lives and works in a 2nd tier country in So America.

I think the thing that really makes children thankful is making sure they understand that many people are less fortunate than our family is.

We pray with our kids on a regular basis. We often thank God for the blessings in our lives.

I try to bring to their attention often that we may not have a lot but there are many that have much less.  We also participate in various volunteer work that helps them see how blessed we really are.
