Schools and outreach?

Does your child's school do anything for outreach during the holidays?  

We do a drive to collect hats and gloves, they also go to a nursing home to sing, send care packages of candy to troops and a few other things.  I really like that there are ways the kids can do some outreach projects at school.

They do a food drive contest between all the classrooms.

 not sure....we are adopting a family to give presents to on our own, i emailed the preschool and maybe 1 family may help

We have a clothing drive and we also do a food drive.

The student council does some things, the school itself does not.

Yes, they are collecting shoes.  (I can't remember who for, I've just heard that this will be their charity project in Dec but haven't heard details)

Mine goes to parochial school, so we do all kinds of activities, from food baskets and angel trees, to soup kitchens, a residential facility for people with AIDS, visits to nursing homes, each grade has a project as well.
