Do you ever take your kids out of school for vacations?
Or do you take vacations while they are on breaks?

I'm surprised by how many people would never pull their kids.
I wouldn't do it for more than a week but I think that a family vacation has much to offer & is an enriching experience.
There is, IMO, more value in bonding as a family than having a perfect attendance record.
My oldest was public schooled, graduated on time (could have a semester early) & is in college & missed school for vacations. It won't "wreck them" or their work ethic.
My youngest are homeschooled & view vacations as a "long-term field trip". Educational experiences can be found everywhere.

Yes, I teach and our breaks don't match, so I take them out. Last time was for my Grandmas 90th birthday party and to see the other gma who is 97. The oldest is in 3rd grade and is a stellar student. It didn't hurt her at all. She did te assigned work mostly on the flight. Then just had to write a daily journal.
