Doctors/nurses

Have you had to switch doctors because they just weren't helpful or downright mean?

How did you find the doctor you are currently using?

How are the nurses that you deal with?

My son's pediatrician has been this doctor since he was born almost 6 yrs ago! She's the head of the practice so she's very experienced. His neurologist has also been the same for 6 yrs now. We love his neuro b/c he is very personable & has bent over backward for us. The nurses we had back when he was hospitalized on & off the 1st yr were always great too.

We switched his pedi because the old pedi wouldn't even check his chart and at one point said he gets sick so much because I am too young to take care of him.
Another pedi in the same office opened her own practice and we followed her.

We are in the process of switching Peditricans actually! We had an older one we liked with Justin and now that we have Austin's he's not good for him. I found a woman who has a minor in special needs children and is willing to take on the task of Austin. I'm so excited about it. I did a lot of research and found her.

As for nurses we have had some wonderful nurses. I've always been surprised with the nurses we have every time we have came into the hospital. Some are better than others and only complained a few times about the ones we have but at the end they are just doing their job

We switched pedi's because the old one wouldn't believe me when I said the girls weren't progressing well and she wouldn't give me referrals for specialist.  Our current pedi- is great, all the dr.'s are, she has the ability to explain things to me without talking down to me but not talking over my head.  We're lucky we don't have any specialists right now.

I'm so glad you found a good Pediatrician.  I think they are sometimes are to come by.

We love our pedi! Both of my kids go to him, along with both of my nephews! As for the rest of Jacob's doctors, well I can take or leave them. I am hoping to get a referral to L.A. for a new neurologist though. We haven't met our opthamologist yet, or our audiologist. Those appointments are still upcoming.
