Yes we do. It's easier to see what we are doing when it comes to suctioning his mouth out to be honest.

We used to have a small lamp with a blue bulb in it. Then when he moved out of the crib to his loft bed (with stairs, not ladder) we hung a string of small globe shaped lanterns. They are on all the time.

Both kids have nightlights.  We just found some cool ones at Ikea.  They're like little white kitties that are kinda squishy and they change colors,  you can even take them off the adapter and they'll staying going for at least 5 hours.  They're low light and you can have it contstantly change colors or stay one color.  Ive found Alyssa sleeps really well with this light and we keep it on a blue/purple color for her, sometimes she'll sleep with it and sometimes she'll jsut keep it on her nightstand.
