Hi Im Sarah mother of 2 .  My oldest son is 4 and has a combo of Autism and ADHD, he goes to special ABA program based school and is finally starting to talk.  My other son is 21 months and talks your ear off, but seems to be picking up his brothers bad habits of not paying attention or listening.  Looking to connect with other moms who are going through the same thing , looking for some pointers.  Some days are sooo stressful .  could use all the tips I can get!

Hi

I'm a mom from Illinois with 19 year old specials needs twins. The boys were actually triplets, no fertility. There were two other sets of natural triplet boys in our family way back. Unfortunately, mine were born at 24 weeks, 10 inches long and weighed about 1 lb 3 oz and that was as I said 19 yrs. ago. What a long road/journey.

Hi Sarah,

Mys son Zack had bleeding in his brain at birth due to being extremely premature, in addition to , Autism.  His twin Jake has Cerebral Palsy and ADD. Jake was moderate to severe physically as a baby/young child but now, after all the years of surgeries, bosy casts, AFO's, SMO's, walkers, wheelchairs, tube feedings etc., he is ambulatory without any assist devices. He does not drive or ride a bike. My biggest challenge today are the behaviors that Zack presents wisth on a daily basis.

Good Mornig Everyone! My name is Donna and my family lives in North Carolina. We are a special blend here in our household.  I have 4 of my own children and 2 stepdaughters ( both with babies) and my husband has 2 married childre with their own familes. Two of my four are special needs, my 'middle' boy, 11, was diagnosed with Aspegers, ADD, Anxiety and ODD just last year, March of 2011. The youngest, 10, has been diagnosed with Mood disorder/bi-polar, ADHD and ODD. I read one of the other posts about feeling isolated, until very recently I had worked full time, however we had to make some kind of change here as the boys have gotten older and need more individual attention. It's seems like endless phone calls, trips to doctors or therapist, and a lot of chaos at times. We knew since my youngest was 18 months that he had ADHD, until 2 years ago and he was hospitalized for very bad disruptive behavior.....that is when we got the full diaganosis. I have taken my 11yr olds diagnosis the hardest. I had thought there may have been some time type of developmental delay, however, doctors, couselors and the schools all said they saw none of that in him. Until 2 years ago when his Aspergers finally started showing up more. The children in his classes were maturing and following directions, Jacob wasn't.

I have blamed myself over and over for the problems of these boys, yet have been told by countless professional its not my fault. It has been linked back to the boys biological father as my one step daughter (who incidentally lives with us) was diagnosised with the same special needs as my 10 year old, however she also has psychosis.

Sorry, I seem to be writing a book here, not my intention.

Anyway, hello everyone!
