This isn't for one of my sn kids but i figured someone in this group possibly has had around with tubes once or twice before.
My little guy jonathan 2.5yrs old got tubes in his ears about 3 weeks ago. When we went to the follow up the doc said every thing looked fine. But i have a weird feeling .. After the surgery they told us that the kids like to stick their fingers in their ears as a fun thing. They said don't make a big deal about it but try not to let him do it. Of course right after surgery he wouldn't let no one touch his ears. But he wasn't sticking his fingers or covering his ears either. It was just the typical ear ache pain rub of his ears that he did.
When we went to the doctors of course he covered his ears so the doctor couldn't check them. So we had to hold his hands down so they could check. Like i said doc said everything looked good.
so now we are past 3 weeks of surgery. We he is putting his fingers in his ears FOR EVERY THING!! it could be simply some noise off the tv. Or like hubby had the weed eater out front of our house.. with me and him on the back porch. House is nice size so we were no where near dh and johnny D had his fingers in his ears. We live on main street ... semi goes by .. boom fingers in ears. When he does it he acts like he is scared too. Of course we don't make a big deal out of it. But this deal is just making me batty of wondering about what the heck. I will say they thought that his speech was being affected because of needing tubes. Which to me he never really had a problem with hearing but he is talking more clear now. I guess we could always just understand johnny D talk ..... kwim.
So ladies any ideas.. if this keeps up what would u think ?
