Our Children's Hospital is also a Health Center, all her specialists are there. I have had nothing but good experiences there. It takes me 45 minutes to an hour to get there if traffice isn't bad, it has taken as much as 1.5 hours to get there. The 1st time that she was taken to the hospital by ambulance I had gotten to the school about 5 minutes before they loaded her up and no one knew which hospital to take her to, they would've taken her to the closest one, as she had never been taken by ambulance anywhere so it wasn't in her records at school. I told them the Children's hospital and now it is in her records at school and the information that I keep about her here at home.
i have dealt with 3 childrens hospitals here in michigan. one isn't really a childrens hospital but it has specialist there for children and its the closest to us for NICU etc.. I have dealt with UofM motts childrens hospital and detroit childrens..... been to UofM for optical, heart, and urology.. Detroit we are doin nero for my sons tremors. If i had to choose between the two it would be Motts. i am not to impressed with detroit especially when it comes to paperwork and setting up appts with refereals. Once we get down there like when he had his sedated MRI or his sleep study.. it wasn't to bad. But detroit is bad for paperwork. Infact we drove 3 hours down there to be told that they couldn't see him w/o the refereal paperwork which the two doctors offices had 2 months to communicate with each other. I was a little upset and told them we will be seen. Motts is wonderful at UofM .. i had eye surgery there as a kid.... my son had eye surgery there plus surgery for urology.. and my oldest daughter had a heart surgery there to put a device in her hole in her heart. If ever i have to be sent some where i usually always tell the pedi office i want to go to UofM .. dumby me didn't think about nero cause i didn't think any thing was goin to come of it. Didn't really notice the tremors.... the 3rd hospital........well lets just say it was not a FUN experience especially just after giving birth. At 11 days old my youngest was admitted for a staph infection and it was the worse time i have ever had with my kids and medical. giving birth 4 times was way better then having to deal with that hospital and their "family providers"
yeah , at one time it was 1 year wait here
Quoting sammygrl77:We have not been to the Children's hospital yet. Every time I try to get in, there is a 6 month wait or more.
