tooth extraction :(

So my 6 year old has to have one of his teeth pulled! His gum is infected & he's on antibiotics. Anyone have any advice for me? I'm soooo nervous!!! His brother's birthday party the same day, I wonder if he'll be ok to go. ugh!!!

Hugs mama!  The same day as his brother's birthday party?  That really stinks!  Hope things go well!  I take it they are giving him numbing meds or putting him to sleep?  Not sure how that works to be honest.

They are giving him this drink to make him drowsy and then the laughing gas. I called this morning & he's won't be able to "bounce" around so he'll go somewhere special with his grandma while the party's going on. He has to get it done this week because we're going away...ugh!

My son has been sedated for cavities (last time 6 years ago knock on wood-or something) he does fine--Thinking of yous through this--that is nice to have special time with grandma

Good Luck. willy had 7 teeth pulled in november. It was rough for us for the next month.

 At 18 months she had the front 4 top and bottom pulled due to problems, she had a bad infection in the gums too. They gave her a real mild sedation in the office and local numbing. She was on antibiotics for a couple of weeks before they were removed. She is fine, she had to go along time before her teeth grew back in but they are in now and she is doing fine.
