I have 3 special needs children. It gets really tough at times. My oldest lives with her dad and stepmom now. It was her choice, but it has relieved much of the stress.

I try to take it one step at a time. I also have issues that make it rough for me to leave the house. I go tgrough periods of time that I can't leave (agoraphobia). I just try to not tgink about all of it otherwise it gets overwhelming.

Schedules, lists, and reminders are my best friends.

I have four boys. Wesley is 8 and is dx asd. Ian is 7 and has social anxieties. David I's is 5 and has social anxiety, ocd, and is waiting on a psychological evaluation for a possibility of aspergers. Jorge will be 2 on Sunday. He is delayed in speech. I going to request his pediatrician refer him for early intervention. He has some asd characteristics. Of all my boys my 5 year old David is my toughest to Handel. I take it one day at a time. I try to prevent any melt Downs that can be seen ahead of time. I usually have to think plans through things don't get blown out of proportion. I have good days and i have bad days but as long as God let's me I'm going to do the best i can one day at a time. Hang in there momma your doing great!

I wonder myself how I do it. My oldest has autisma n my daughter is speech delayed. Well I try to place a sehdule. But I myself don't keep to it and time outs aren't working so I put them in a room or even find myself yelling at them cause I'm so stressed out. They r on vacay so I try my best to deal with both plus two more little girls. :-P!!!!

My 4 y/o has PDD and my 9 month old is very high needs...lol. I get my dad or DH to help me out but with no help it is HARD and i feel your pain. I would try my best to get busy and creative with things to do with them.....and then take breaks for u in between. We all need a breather.
