PDD-NOS newly diagnosed. Please comment.
Hey all. My name is Christina and I have a beautiful daughter named Eva. Her name couldn't be more accurate as my child is so full of life. With 4 months until her third birthday, her language skills are at a 24 month level, howver she improves everyday. Her eye contact and responsiveness is lacking but its not outrageously noticeable. She has two facial "tics" that are a little out of the ordinary such as a "shaking" when she is very excited or when she is touching something that she really enjoys (nothing specific) she opens her mouth wide until the stimulation passes ( my theory). However I have a younger brother that did similar things who is now 22 and perfectly "normal" (whatever that is anyways). Whether she will begin to regress is a mystery to all but at this rate I can't imagine her losing any skills any time soon. I am wondering if A. Anyone has a child with similar tendencies and their diagnosis (or lack of)? B. Has anyone had a child with this dx that has "outgrown" their diagnosis? C. If they have outgrown it, in your opinion, does outgrow really mean they were wrong to begin with? Or do you believe that the treatment is what allowed them to develop in a more mainstream manner? Please any comments would be greatly appreciated.
