I don't like the pt.

Because of having state insurance, we are limited on where we can get therapy. I don't feel comfortable with Christopher's new pt that he see 2 out of the 3 sessions each week. She doesn't seem experienced with children with cp and seems kind of aloof. He's getting stronger and all, so I have to suck it up. I'm grateful he still gets to see his very experienced pt once a week.

Ugh. You can't request to just have the one? That sucks :(

That is hard. Hopefully she will build a good rapport with your son and things will actually work out. Since she is less experienced, could she sort of take the lead from the other PT (with what to work on, etc)?

That is hard--we are limited too with my ds insurance--it is hard-you have few to choose from--hopefully she will learn from others and become more experienced soon!  Sorry you are going through this Sandra-

They are at different clinics and the new one is the only pt at her clinic. I'm stuck with her for now. I've asked her to call the other pt to make sure they are on the same page, but she hasn't.

Well, she needs to call the other PT to make sure they are doing the same things...otherwise it's pointless!  I would keep asking her until it's done!

I agree with the others. I say try and set up a meeting with both PT's to discuss a PT plan of action so that everyone is on the same page. When we were in NC and the twins were in the EI program all the therapists came to us and they all worked together on the boys. The PT would work with one while the OT worked with the other and they would switched and it worked out great because they worked togehter on the boys and were on the same page with them. And then when we had to change PT's over the summer we had a meeting with both PT's and the OT and ST, So that everyone could find out where everyone stood on the different Therepies and what our goals were so we were all on the same page with all the goals.

That stinks that she seems inexperienced.  Does he like her? I'd just watch her like a hawk untill you can request a new one.
