The developmental pediatrician agrees that Cameron has ADHD. I knew that of course. She wants us to try Concerta. If he has no major side effects and it helps then we won't have to tweak the dosage. If he doesn't benefit from it at all or has major side effects we will try something else. She knows our regular pediatrician and said she has ADHD management experience so that's good to know.

I'm hopeful that this will help him in school and at home. I'm just kinda.....bummed. Do you ever go to an appt with your kid(s) & think why my kid? Why anyone's kid? I cried the whole way home again. I know it's not the worst thing to deal with. He's gone through so much though and he's only 6!! A stroke, epilepsy, CP, developmental delays, & now ADHD. He just weaned off his seizure med & he's been on that his whole life!

I'd move heaven & earth for my kid, that's why I'm trying this out. Do any of you ever feel down after these appts? I'm sure I'm not the only mom who gets down about our special guys & gals.

Oh yeah, we just had one of those appts last week. I think the doctor was wrong about what she suspects, so I am trying not to worry, waiting for lab results, but I just went prepared for a routine appt and she threw this off the wall suspicion of an issue at me and I just felt completely overwrought. Ugh! Sorry. I know how you feel!

Hugs it does get. Me down thinking am I doing right by trying them on meds. Especially Wesley. He already takes so much to control his asthma and undergoes weekly allergy shots. Now he's on anxiety meds and possibly needing adhd meds in the near future. Hugs your doing awesome with cameron!:)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way but I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Lol

Thanks! I worry about giving the med too. Is it right to medicate a kid or is it not right. I bet most parents struggle with it. But if it helps theme then it's a good thing. If not you can always stop it. Hugs!!

(((Hugs)))

I feel that way after most specialist visits. I think there is only one that makes me feel good about the future.

I feel that way after the developmental visits...it's frustrating mama!  I spent an entire year crying over all of his diagnoses!
